Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos is reconsidering his decision to retire after the 2026 FIFA World Cup following South Africas first ever qualification for the knockout rounds.
At a press conference on Saturday 27 June ahead of the teams match against Canada on Sunday, Broos recalled that he signed his first contract as a player at the age of 19.
Broos thinks twice about Bafana retirementI am now 74. Thats 55 years in professional football. This has to be the end, said the Belgian tactician. But the closer the end comes, the more you start thinking about it. So, we will see.
