With the tax season currently in full swing, some of you might have received that dreaded letter of demand from the SA Revenue Service Sars or don't know it yet that it's already in your inbox.
A letter of demand from the taxman is like a financial fire alarm to jolt you into action to prevent the heat from turning into flames. Sars typically uploads the letter on your eFiling profile and provided you have updated your contact details also sends an email or SMS notification.
Razael Manikus, COO at financial firm Latita Africa said some people only find out when it's too late that they owe Sars.
