Historic Steam Train Trip Back On The Tracks

After a six-year hiatus, Ceres Rail Company has announced the highly anticipated relaunch of its steam train trip from Cape Town to Simon's Town.

With this relaunch, Ceres Rail Company aims to take passengers back in time when steam locomotives ruled the rails and journeys were savoured for their grace and elegance.

The journey from Cape Town to Simon's Town encapsulates the essence of South Africa's rich history and breathtaking landscapes. As the train chugs along the picturesque route, passengers will be treated to panoramic views of the Cape Peninsula, including the iconic Table Mountain and the False Bay coastline.

The end destination is Simon's Town, a historic naval village located on the eastern shores of the Cape Peninsula, and features a wealth of cultural and natural treasures. From the vibrant waterfront and charming Victorian buildings to the world-renowned Boulders Beach, home to a colony of endangered African Penguins,

Ceres Rail Company's steam train trips to Simon's Town commenced on March 21, with future trips planned for April 27, May 1 and May 19.
