Slated to take place from May 28-31 in Windhoek, Namibia, the 2024 Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Summit will welcome over 500 youth and women in tourism from across the African continent.

Hosted by the Namibia Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, the Summit will be jointly convened by UN Tourism, Africa Tourism Partners, BDO, and Millvest. The Summit is also endorsed and supported by the African Continental Free Trade Area, Namibia Tourism Board, Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, and New Partnership for Africa's Development.

One of this years focus areas aims to amplify the voices of young women in travel, tourism tech entrepreneurs, hospitality, and aviation professionals, amongst others.

Amongst the key speakers for this years Ministerial roundtable are: Pohamba Shifeta, Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Namibia; Heather Sibungo, Deputy Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism, Namibia; Gemma Matshediso Mbegabolawe, Regional Economic Communities Coordinator, Directorate of Institutional Matters and Programme Coordination, AfCFTA Secretariat, Ghana; Emma Kantema-Gaomas, Deputy Minister of Sport, Youth National Service, Namibia; and Dr Linda Pereira, CEO of CPL Events, Portugal.

The session aims to raise awareness of equal opportunities and inspire solutions to gender disparity, emphasising gender equality and women's empowerment.

Other notable speakers participating at Summit include: Barbara Rwodzi,Minister of Tourism Hospitality Industry, Zimbabwe; Mbali Mngomezulu, Manager, Business Development, MasterCard, South Africa; Mike Tavares, Founder CEO of Ojimah, Mauritius; Nawa Likando, Head of Digital Strategy, Transformation, and Innovation at MTC, Namibia; Joanne Mwangi-Yelbert, Director, Professional Marketing Services Group, Kenya;Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority; and Mukameenda Salare, Cluster Commercial Manager, Hilton Windhoek, Namibia.
