Springbok winger Cornal Hendricks, who passed away suddenly at age 37 from a heart attack, will be laid to rest this Sunday in Wellington, Boland, reports said on Tuesday.
He suffered a heart attack.
Hendricks, who earned 12 caps for South Africa and also played for the Blitzboks, Boland, Cheetahs, and Bulls, had previously been diagnosed with a rare heart condition that temporarily halted his rugby career in 2015, reports said on Tuesday.
After seeking a second opinion, he returned to the game in 2017 with the Bulls and went on to win the Currie Cup and Super Rugby Unlocked titles.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday in Wellington and on Friday in Paarl, SABC News reported.
