American streamer HBO Max could soon be available in South Africa via DStv following a multi-year and multi-territory deal between Canal and Warner Bros. Discovery WBD announced on Wednesday 31 December.
The agreement also includes the renewal of 12 channels, such as CNN International and Cartoon Network , which would have otherwise been cancelled on DStv from 1 January 2026.
Canal acquired MultiChoice in 2025 and the latter owns pay TV broadcaster DStv.
