After a 15-year absence, Cape Towns Green Point Flea Market will return to its original location on May 11.
The market was shut down in 2009 during the redevelopment of the Green Point Stadium precinct ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Now the market will operate every Sunday from 08h00 to 18h00, except on days when major events are scheduled at the stadium. Its expected to draw both tourists and locals.
Visitors can expect everything from Cape Malay delicacies like koesisters and samoosas, to hand-crafted ceramics, clothing, and artworks made by local creatives.
The Flea Market operates through a partnership with the City of Cape Town, which supports the market as a space for informal trade and micro-enterprise development.
