The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure Dean MacPherson says they are working on ensuring that the Expropriation Bill does not harm South Africans.

Speaking at a panel discussion on the implications of the Expropriation Bill held at NAMPO Park in Bothaville in the Free State, MacPherson debunked claims of land confiscation and genocide of white farmers.

The Expropriation Bill, which was recently enacted, has sparked contention in the country.

With 49 Afrikaners seeking refuge in the US, MacPherson says the bill is meant to redress inequality and land ownership issues.

We are working to find our way through some of the challenges that have been raised in court, says Macpherson.
