Ghana Launches Code4food Security Fellowship To Drive Digital Innovation

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations , Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has launched the Code4Food Security Fellowship in Accra, describing the initiative as a key intervention aligned with Ghana's digitalisation drive and national development agenda.

The Fellowship was launched on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT GI-KACE. Speaking at the event, the Minister said the programme supports government's vision of building a productive, inclusive and technology-driven economy under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.

Hon. Nartey George emphasised that digital innovation, data science and artificial intelligence are increasingly critical to economic growth, food security and national security. He noted that the application of digital solutions across sectors such as agriculture, logistics, climate monitoring and food systems is essential to addressing Ghana's food security challenges.
