The Gauteng Department of Education GDE has confirmed an investigation into allegations of rape against a teacher at Bronkhorstspruit Primary School is under way.
It is alleged that a foundation-phase learner was sexually assaulted by an educator. The accused appeared before the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrates Court Wednesday and the matter has been postponed to the 11th of September.
The GDE said in a statement that it will refer the matter to the Education Labour Relations Council for further investigation and will support their processes.
