Disaster officials in the Garden Route and Little Karoo say gale-force winds are pushing back their rehabilitation efforts following last week's devastating floods.
Wind speeds of over 100 kilometres per hour have been gusting throughout the region, causing havoc to homes, businesses and infrastructure.
Disaster management head Gerhard Otto says, "This has been affecting the entire district, from Riversdale where three trucks have been blown over on the N2, right through Oudtshoorn, right through Mossel Bay, George, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. We also assessing damage to houses in the Kannaland area. So, this will just delay the rehabilitation work done on the Garden Route."
