Attempted murder-accused tenderpreneur Vusimuzi Cat Matlala told police officers that he had given money to suspended Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya and controversial North West businessman Brown Mogotsi.
Some of the money he gave to Mogotsi - R500,000 - was used to pay for African National Congress ANC members to attend the partys January 8 anniversary celebrations this year, Matlala claimed. This was allegedly part of on-leave Police Minister Senzo Mchunus ANC presidential campaign.
Matlala made the claims to members of the Political Killings Task Team PKTT shortly after they arrested him on 13 May this year.
