In the heart of Nigerias capital city, Abuja, where style meets ambition, one name is beginning to resonate louder than most-RENs Closet, the fashion brand redefining elegance for the modern woman. At the helm of this rising fashion house is the passionate and ever-vibrant Iveren Indyer, a woman whose journey from the quiet streets of Benue to the spotlight of fashion runways is as bold and inspiring as the designs she creates.
Born and raised in an average but values-rich household, Iveren is the third of five children. Her roots run deep into the Tiv culture of Benue State, where the core values of discipline, humility, and decency shaped her outlook from a young age. Reflecting on her upbringing, she recalls, "There were words we didnt say, places we didnt go, and things we didnt do. Trust me, I thought I was being punished," she laughs, "but now, I see how much it shaped my life."
The 90s were more than just a decade to her-they were a defining era. "Growing up during that time gave me structure. It made me understand life from a perspective of responsibility and purpose," she says. These values would later become the backbone of RENs Closet, a brand known not just for fashion but for class, poise, and a sense of identity.
Though fashion was always a passion, Iverens first love was media. She studied Mass Communication at Benue State University, driven by a childhood fascination with television personalities. One such influence was the late Tokunbo Ajayi, a poised and eloquent newscaster who inspired Iveren with every broadcast. "I remember telling my parents Id be a news anchor one day," she recalls fondly.
