Kaizer Chiefs, Durban City, Marumo Gallants and Sekhkhune United are locked in a four-way tie at the top of South Africas Betway Premiership after the first midweek round of the 2025/26 season was wrapped up on Wednesday evening.
The quartet are level on six points, and Chiefs fans will be delighted to see their club flying high after last seasons struggles in the league. The Amakhosi secured back-to-back wins by defeating a stubborn Polokwane City 1-0 at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, thanks to a first goal for the club by midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu.
Wednesday also saw Sekhukhune and Durban City continue their strong starts to the campaign: Babina Noko edged TS Galaxy in Polokwane courtesy of veteran Bradley Grobler, while newly-promoted City made it two wins from as many top-flight matches via a late goal from Joslin Kamatuka.
