Authorities in the Western Cape have moved quickly to contain a confirmed case of Foot-and-Mouth Disease FMD on a farm near Gouda, with multiple farms placed under quarantine and strict movement controls now in effect.
The Western Cape Veterinary Services confirmed the case on 6 November, prompting an immediate containment response, as per NovaNews .
The affected property, along with two others in Velddrif and Bredasdorp , has been quarantined after cattle were believed to have been transported between these farms.
