Firefighters are still battling to contain the blaze on the mountain slopes near Bains Kloof in the Boland.
The Cape Winelands District Municipalitys Fire Services say ground teams are making good progress despite the strong winds and challenging terrains.
Municipality Spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto says strong winds are preventing the use of aerial resources.
