The Eskom restructuring task team ERTT is now operational with officials setting a target date of December 31, 2027 for the establishment of an independent transmission system operator TSO.
The update was provided during the latest Operation Vulindlela briefing when progress on electricity sector reform was outlined.
The ERTT, which was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa during the State of the Nation Address in February, is operating under the National Energy Crisis Committee and has moved into implementation phase.
