Eskom has extended rooftop solar registration fee waiver by six months. The power utility says the move is aimed at ensuring grid stability and safety as more South Africans turn to the sun for power.
The waiver, which was originally set to expire at the end of this month, will now run until September 30.
This means that residential and small-business solar systems with a capacity of up to 50 kilowatts can be registered and connected to the grid without paying any application or connection fees.
