Manchester City striker, Erling haaland was the hero for Norway as they sealed 2026 World Cup qualification, Softfootball reports.
Norway hammered Italy 4-1 at the Sansiro in an emphatic fashion. Haaland who had earlier reached 30 goals in 2025 with his brace against Estonia was at the forefront of the magnificent win over the Azzurri at the famous Sansiro.
Italy were chasing the impossible as they needed to win by at least 9-0 to qualify for the World Cup ahead of Norway and Pio Esposito gave them a glimmer of hope when he scored after 11 minutes. He connected a pass by Federico Dimarco, and finished with aplomb.
