Just like a proud father to a son when a major achievement is reached, Manchester United celebrated club Captain Bruno Fernandes after his hat-trick helped Portugal qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Softfootball reports.
The former Sporting Lisbon star scored two penalties and a well worked goal in the second half as Portugal demolished Armenia 9-1 inside the Estadio Do Drago in front of 46,702 fans.
Portugal were without their all-time topscorer Cristiano Ronaldo after he got a red card in their previous game against Republic of Ireland and thereby suspended for three matches. So, in addition to the Armenia game he missed, he will be out of Portugal's first two matches at the World Cup.
