Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, broke down into tears as Kevin De Bruyne waved goodbye to the Etihad following his final game in front of the fans.
The former Premier League champions have decided not to renew De Bruynes contract which expires this summer.
This means the 33-year-old will leave as a free agent after a decade at the club, where he won six league titles and a Champions League trophy.
De Bruyne missed the chance to score against Bournemouth on Tuesday night, as City won 3-1 to climb up into third place.
As the lights went out inside the ground, De Bruyne, alongside his wife Michele Lacroix and their three children - Mason, Rome and Suri - took to the pitch for the final time as the fans sang his name.
