The South African womens senior football team is going into the last phase of preparing for the Womens Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON in Morocco in July.
Coach Desiree Ellis announced the 24-women squad that will play two friendly matches against neighbouring Botswana and Zambia in the next two weeks.
Banyana are the reigning African Champions.
Ellis says they are looking at the two matches and beyond, to prepare vigorously for the WAFCON tournament.
We know how many days are left before WAFCON starts. We know this is the last window before WAFCON starts, we are working behind the scenes, making sure that we get everything right. This is not about just these friendly matches and also about what happens after that as well. So, we have one eye on this window, we also have another eye on what we need to do after because thats going to be key as well, we know it was very key in the WAFCON.
