Economic Freedom Fighters leader in Mpumalanga, Collen Sedibe, has urged political leaders in the province to take a leaf from former Deputy President David Mabuzas book and imitate his leadership.
Sedibe is one of the mourners attending the Category 2 state funeral service for Mabuza. The funeral is currently under way at Hoerskool Bergvlam Sports Field in Mbombela where thousands of members of the public and dignitaries are attending.
Mabuza served as the premier of Mpumalanga from 2009 to 2018 before his national deployment as the deputy president.
Sedibe says the mourners are bidding farewell to a king. It is a great loss for the province, great loss for the country. That man loved people, he worked with passion for the people. His legacy will live on. He has done many good things than bad in the entire province. The lessons that he left with us are very good. We must just take over from him, take the baton and deliver exactly as he did. We just need the great mind that he had to take the province forward.
