Businessmen Vusimuzi Cat Matlala and Brown Mogotsi appeared to have a close relationship until the South African Police Service SAPS cancelled a R360 million tender awarded to one of Matlalas companies.
SAPS awarded a health risk management tender to Medicare24 Tshwane District owned by Matlala in June 2024.
Last week, SAPS National Commissioner General Fannie Masemola testified at the Madlanga commission of inquiry that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu ordered a review of the tender in December 2024. This followed media reports of irregularities.
