In a significant move for South Africas creative industry, MultiChoices new parent company Canal has revealed plans to export locally produced content to international markets.

The French media giant intends to leverage its global distribution network to showcase South African storytelling to worldwide audiences, potentially creating new revenue streams and international exposure for local productions.

According to MyBroadband , Canal Africa CEO David Mignot confirmed that hit shows like Shaka Ilembe and Spinners are being considered for global distribution through StudioCanal, the companys production and distribution arm.
