The Democratic Alliance DA says its application against a value-added tax VAT hike is still proceeding in the Western Cape High Court this coming Tuesday.
The DA, the African National Congresss ANC biggest government of national unity partner, voted against the fiscal policy framework when it was tabled in parliament earlier this month.
The DA has maintained its position against the half-a-percentage-point VAT hike announced by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana.
DA spokesperson Karabo Khakhau says the party will meet with the ANC this coming Thursday to discuss the VAT increase.
Khakhau says the DA is still proceeding to court on the 22nd of April.
