The Democratic Alliance in Gauteng has confirmed that its lawyers have written to the City to demand urgent answers about its agreement with trade union SAMWU.
The agreement, which the party has described as politically facilitated and misleading, commits the City to an unfunded R10 billion obligation until 2027.
The DA has also questioned the timing, given Johannesburgs struggle to deliver basic services and its finances.
