The Democratic Alliance DA in the Free State is calling for an urgent investigation into allegations that an ANC councillor illegally sold housing stands in Memel, at Phumelela Municipality.
According to several affidavits, the stands were sold for just R250 to R300.
The DA has described that as a shocking abuse of public trust at a time when thousands of residents have been waiting decades for proper housing.
