Chennai Super Kings CSKhave clarified the situation around Dewald Brevis' signing as a replacement player after R Ashwin came up with some serious allegations in relation to the same. Ashwin recently made certain remarks on the manner in which Brevis was acquired, claiming that the franchise had paid extra money to Brevis' agent over his base price.
As per CSK's official release, Brevis was signed as an injury player to replace Gurjapneet Singh in full accordance with the IPL Player Regulations 2025-27 and in specific Clause 6.6 which states the following:
CSKalso uploaded a screenshot of a media advisory posted by the IPL on its official website confirming Brevis coming into the setup for INR 2.2 crore. This was the same price at which Gurjapneet was secured at the mega auction in Jeddah.
