Cricket South Africa has announced its new list of contracted players for the upcoming 2026-27 season, a crucial period as the men's team aims to defend its ICC World Test Championship title while also preparing for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 on home soil.
Among the headline inclusions in the men's contracts are first-time national deals for Ottneil Baartman and Corbin Bosch. Promising batters Matthew Breetzke and Dewald Brevis have also earned their maiden full national contracts. Veteran spinner Simon Harmer, meanwhile, has been awarded a hybrid contract.
A key structural change this season is the introduction of the Players of National Interest' PONIs category, designed to identify top Division 1 players as part of the national pipeline and strengthen squad depth across formats, including for South Africa A tours.
