Cote d'Ivoire has reaffirmed its ambition to accelerate national digital development, presenting a comprehensive roadmap during the Africa Investment Forum 2025 held on Wednesday, November 26, in Rabat. The presentation was delivered by Kalil Ibrahim Konate, who spoke alongside officials from Guinea, Mauritania, and digital sector experts from the African Development Bank AfDB and global telecommunications stakeholders. The session was attended by Cote d'Ivoire's AfDB Governor, Minister Niale Kaba.
Konate highlighted the countrys target of raising the digital sector's contribution to the national GDP to between 6-8 by 2028, and ultimately to 12-15 in the years that follow. He emphasized that expanding digital infrastructure remains central to achieving this goal.
A major component of the strategy is the National Rural Connectivity Programme NCR, which allocates more than 28 billion CFA francs to rural digital expansion for 2024-2025 and an additional 33 billion CFA francs for 2026-2027. The programme aims to significantly reduce connectivity gaps and ensure broader access to digital services across underserved areas.
