The Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers has recommended a 4.1 percent salary increase for public office bearers for the 2025/2026 financial year.
This is contained in the government gazette that was published this week. The proposed salary increases, if approved, could see the President earning R137 000 more a year, bringing his salary to R3.4 million annually.
The Deputy President could get an annual increase of just under R130 000 a year, bringing his salary to R3.1 million a year.
