The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs CoGTA, Velenkosini Hlabisa, together with the Premier of Mpumalanga, Mandla Ndlovu, and the Head of the National Disaster Management Centre, Dr Elias Sithole, will on Saturday conduct an oversight visit to areas affected by recent flooding in Mpumalanga Province.
Persistent heavy rains have caused flooding across parts of Mpumalanga and Limpopo, damaging critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and community facilities.
Several households have been displaced, livelihoods disrupted, and access to basic services affected, while safety risks remain high in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
