City of Cape Town law enforcement department of the city has impounded over 100 vehicles over the last financial year in a robust response to the rampant issue of illegal dumping across urban areas, Cape town Etc reports.
The escalating challenge, recognised for its detrimental impact on the environment and public health, has prompted officials to intensify enforcement measures against those caught violating by-laws that govern proper waste disposal.
During the 2022/23 financial year, a total of 106 vehicles associated with illegal dumping were confiscated, marking a significant increase from just 47 in the 2021/22 period.
