chaos in mk party caucus as john hlophe reports ndhlela and duduzile to zuma

uMkhonto weSizwe MK Party Deputy President John Hlophe has written to the partys leader, Jacob Zuma, about the disruptive and divisive behaviour of party members of Parliament MPs Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and Nhlamulo Ndhlela.

At the same time, reports indicate that some MK Party MPs have also written to Zuma to call for the removal of their Chief Whip Colleen Makhubele .

Hlophe and Makhubele feel the heat in MK Party caucus

In his letter to Zuma dated 26 June 2025, Hlophe complained that Zuma-Sambudla and Ndhlela had undermined his and Makhubeles authority during a whippery meeting on 25 June.

Hlophe, who also doubles as the partys leader in the National Assembly, wrote that Ndhlela attended the meeting despite being informed of his removal from the whippery team. He also feigned ignorance of his removal.

He proceeded to insult the Chief Whip, claiming she required political education and that her decision to remove him was invalid unless sanctioned by the Top Management Structure, Hlophe wrote.

Commander Ndhlela has consistently insulted the Chief Whip, in some instance labelling her a political novice and newcomer to the political landscape.

This tirade was not only disrespectful but also a direct attack on the authority of the Chief Whip and the Party Leader, as the removal letter bore my signature as Party Leader.

Hlophe also accused Zuma-Sambudla of interrupting proceedings, creating unnecessary chaos and disregarding repeated cautions to wait her turn.

Her behaviour forced me to intervene and chair the meeting. While I was speaking, Commander Zuma-Sambudla interrupted me repeatedly, displaying unruly behaviour that required reprimanding. She noisily rose from her seat, grabbed her belongings, and exclaimed, Are we not done? before sitting down when she realised no one followed her, he added.

The behaviour of both members was despicable and does not reflect the ethos that the MK Party seeks to portray to its constituents. Their actions contravene the principles of Ubuntu, Unity in Action and Respect, as outlined in the MK Party Constitution and Disciplinary Code of Conduct.
