Dr. Boukar Michel, Chad's Minister of Telecommunications, Digital Economy, and Digitalization of the Administration, met with William Flens, the United States Business Commissioner in Chad, accompanied by Dr. Arthur James Bell, First Secretary of the U.S. Embassy, to discuss boosting bilateral cooperation in the telecommunications and digital sectors.
The discussions centered on addressing connectivity challenges, modernizing national digital infrastructure, and promoting investment opportunities for American companies in Chad. The U.S. delegation highlighted the relatively low presence of U.S. businesses in the country and expressed interest in increasing participation through partnerships and new investments.
During the meeting, Minister Michel outlined key priorities from Chad's National Development Programme NDP 2026-2030, emphasizing the strategic development of artificial intelligence. He encouraged U.S. companies to explore opportunities in the country and proposed formalizing collaborations through Memorandums of Understanding MOUs in telecommunications and digitalization.
