Ghana's local currency, the cedi , has shown relative stability against major international currencies on the interbank market, especially the US dollar.

According to the Bank of Ghana 's daily update, as of July 23, 2025, the cedi is trading at a buying rate of GH10.44 and a selling rate of GH10.45 to the dollar.

The British pound is being bought at GH14.12 and sold at GH14.14, while the euro stands at GH12.27 for buying and GH12.28 for selling.

Market checks by GhanaWeb Business on the same day at 7:45 AM show that in some forex bureaus, the cedi is trading at GH12.10 to the dollar. The pound is going for GH16.35, while the euro is being exchanged at GH14.20 on the retail market.

Meanwhile, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, has stated that the cedi appreciated by 42 during the first half of 2025.
