South African Airways SAA has announced that Cape Towns air travel connections are getting a tropical upgrade with the inauguration of its first-ever direct flights to Mauritius launching later this year, reports Cape town Etc .
Described as a fascinating achievement in a statement by SAA CEO Professor John Lamola, the new route represents a strategic expansion aimed at boosting regional leisure travel and supporting tourism goals on both sides of the Indian Ocean.
Connecting Cape Town with Mauritius is a fascinating achievement that our team has been aspiring towards for quite some time, Lamola said. Passengers can look forward to experiencing SAAs signature warm hospitality and world-class service on every flight.
SAAs direct flights to Mauritius will commence from 9 December 2025.
The launch will see three weekly departures from Cape Town on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with outbound flights departing at 9:25am and touching down in Mauritius just after 4:30pm. The return leg departs the island nation at 5:20pm and lands back in Cape Town at 9:30pm.
