The City of Cape Town says the increased visitor numbers in the city are a strong indicator that co-ordinated efforts between government and the aviation industry are delivering improved results.
The Cape Town International Airport has seen a surge of 11 million visitor numbers of two-way passengers through the airport for the first time.
More than 3 million of these travellers were international passengers.
