Cape Town International Airport is preparing to harness more of the Western Capes sunshine, with plans for a large-scale solar power plant moving closer to reality.
The Airports Company South Africa ACSA says development of the new photovoltaic facility is at an advanced stage.
According to , the project will have a peak generation capacity of at least 2.5 megawatts MWp, helping the airport reduce its reliance on the national electricity grid while lowering operating costs and carbon emissions.
