Motorsport fans across South Africa have a date to circle on their calendars: 13 December 2025. For the first time in its history, the FIM World Supercross Championship will be heading to the African continent, and its bringing the grand finale to Cape Town's DHL Stadium.

The high-octane championship will close its five-continent calendar in the Mother City, marking a major milestone not only for the series but for the African motorsport scene as a whole, as per Smile FM . Fans will get the chance to see elite supercross athletes carve through custom-built dirt tracks in one of the world's most picturesque cities.

The championship begins on 18 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, followed by adrenaline-charged races in Buenos Aires 8 November, Vancouver 15 November, and Australia's Gold Coast 29 November, before capping off in South Africa just before the festive season.

'Cape Town is going to be an incredible host,' said Tony Feldman from Showtime Management, the local event promoter. 'There's passion here, there's infrastructure, and the setting is spectacular. This is not just a race it's going to be an unforgettable moment for African motorsport.'

The 2025 season also introduces a sleek new branding concept, including a bold, tire-pattern 'W' logo that wraps into a global design. The rebrand aims to reflect the international growth of the series, with increased attention on television, social media, and fan engagement worldwide.
