Cape Town will temporarily maintain its Dial-a-Ride service for disabled residents as the Western Cape High Court prepares to review funding responsibilities across spheres of government.
As confirmed by the City of Cape Town , the extension aims to facilitate a broader conversation about the respective mandates and responsibilities of local, provincial, and national governments in providing specialized transport services.
The City emphasised that while it invests significantly in accessible transport, it cannot indefinitely shoulder the financial burden alone.
