A regional court has sentenced Nafiz Modack 44 to ten years' imprisonment for corruption, with three years suspended for five years, meaning he will serve an effective seven years behind bars. SAPS
According to the HAWKS statement , Modack was convicted on 6 June 2025 following a Hawks investigation that found he paid a total of R146 000 in gratification to former senior police officer Brigadier Kolindren Govender in return for special treatment.
The court also declared Modack unfit to possess a firearm.
