According to the City of Cape Town, new workforce data reveals that thousands of residents from areas such as Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha and Langa form the backbone of the city's international business process outsourcing BPO sector.
The figures, released through an industry analysis commissioned by the City of Cape Town's Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, Alderman James Vos, offer one of the clearest snapshots yet of where the people behind the industry actually live, and who benefits from its continued expansion.
