Following the last few sun-filled days, the South African Weather Service SAWS is warning the Cape to brace for more incoming cold fronts this week, complete with very cold conditions as well as damaging winds and waves, reports Cape town Etc .

A cold front is expected to slip south of the country by Wednesday morning, introducing cold to very cold daytime temperatures of 10C and below in places over the interior of the Western Cape and the Namakwa district Northern Cape, says SAWS.

As another cold front moves south of the country by Thursday evening, the very cold daytime temperatures are expected to persist through Saturday.

According to the national weather service, those along the capes coasts, between Saldanha Bay to Plettenerg Bay, can expect westerly to south-westerly swells with wave heights reaching four to five metres from Tuesday evening until Thursday evening.

Wave heights are expected to reach up to 5.5m on Wednesday. As a result, SAWS has issued a Yellow level 2 warning for damaging waves during this period 6pm on Tuesday, 17 June to 11:59pm on Thursday, 19 June.
