The City of Cape Town's Water and Sanitation Directorate has advised that various parts of the Mother City will experience water supply disruptions this week as the team conducts planned work on its water supply infrastructure, reports Cape town Etc .
The following areas will be affected:
Maintenance work: pipe and valve installations, repairs and replacements Morgenster Heights, Morgensterm St Michaels, Scottsville, Scottsdene, Okavango Park in Brackenfell- Tuesday, 17 June, from 9am to 7pm
- Wednesday, 18 June, from 9am to 7pm
The water supply to these areas will be shut off temporarily to enable the maintenance team to safely do upgrades to the water supply network on the corners of Vivaldi and Shawn Streets, as well as Marais and Vivaldi Streets in Morgenster Heights.
According to the directorate, the work involves the installation of pipe sections, connectors and additional valves. Residents will therefore experience low water pressure to no water during this period.
Voelvlei Water Treatment Plant shutdown- Tuesday, 17 June, from 8am to 10pm
The Voelvlei Water Treatment Plant will be shut off to allow for maintenance work. The directorate, which will be filling the Citys reservoirs to supply the area, is urging residents and businesses in the Durbanville, Fisantekraal and Klipheuwel areas to reduce their water consumption during this time.
