George Foreman, the two-time heavyweight world champion and Olympic gold medallist, has died at the age of 76, Cape town Etc reports.
The news was confirmed through a verified social media account dedicated to Foreman, stating that he passed away peacefully on 21 March 2025, surrounded by his family.
A towering figure in boxing history, Foreman's career was defined by his devastating power and unforgettable battles in the ring, including his legendary 1974 clash with Muhammad Ali in the iconic 'Rumble in the Jungle.' Before that, he claimed Olympic gold in 1968 and later dominated the heavyweight division with a stunning knockout victory over Joe Frazier.
Beyond boxing, Foreman became a successful entrepreneur, most famously launching the George Foreman Grill, which sold over 100 million units worldwide. His influence extended beyond the sport, as he also dedicated much of his life to ministry and philanthropy.
