The Border Management Authority BMA says it is anticipating a high number of people to be processed through the Beitbridge Border Post during the return phase of their travels for the festive season.
The BMA, working with several stakeholders including the SANDF, has also successfully intercepted just over 7 000 people attempting illegal crossings at various land borders since the start of the festive season.
It is a fairly quiet New Years Day at the Beitbridge port-of-entry as officials await the influx of returning travellers after the festive season holidays.
