The Border Management Authority BMA has disrupted a suspected human trafficking operation at OR Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park.
Acting BMA Commissioner Jane Thupana has confirmed that 14 Ethiopians and 16 Bangladeshis have been intercepted by BMA immigration and border law enforcement teams at the airport.
The interventions form part of the authoritys intensified efforts to combat human trafficking, irregular migration and transnational organised crime, particularly during the festive season peak.
