In a dramatic incident that sent shockwaves through the community, a fire broke out at Paarl Provincial Hospital on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at approximately 11:17am.
Thanks to the prompt and efficient response from the Drakenstein Municipality's Fire and Rescue Services, the fire was swiftly contained by 12pm, limiting the damage to the Day Hospital section of the facility.
